Meet Our Physicians
Kenneth L. Silk, M.D.
As of the fall of 2016, Dr. Silk has retired from clinical practice. We welcome his former patients to establish care with any of our other physicians.
Dr. Silk is a native of Detroit, Michigan. He completed his undergraduate pre-med curriculum degree and earned his M.D. degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Silk served his internship from 1967-68 at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. From there he went to Cleveland where he served two years with the U.S. Public Health Service and the U.S. Coast Guard. From 1970-74 he completed his ENT residency at Indiana University. In 1974 he moved to Louisville to begin practice at Cohen & Silk, P.S.C. Dr. Silk is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has been president and chairperson of various hospital committees as well as local and state medical organizations. He is married with two sons and a daughter. His professional practice interests include general ENT, rhinology and sinus disease, and head and neck oncologic surgery. His personal interests include family activities, travel, golf, music and the outdoors.
Bruce A. Scott, M.D.
Dr. Scott, a native Louisvillian, is the President of Kentuckiana Ear Nose & Throat. He attended St. Xavier High School, graduated with high honors from Vanderbilt University and the University of Texas Medical Branch and completed his residency and fellowship training in Texas. He is board certified in both Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Scott returned to Louisville in 1993. Recognized as an outstanding clinician and surgeon, he has been named a “Top Doc” and “Top Surgeon” by Louisville Magazine for several years and listed among the “Best Physicians in America” by national publications. He has authored over 30 scientific articles and book chapters and held multiple leadership positions in the Greater Louisville, Kentucky and American Medical Associations. Dr. Scott practices all aspects of otolaryngology, with special emphasis on nasal and sinus problems including nasal obstruction, chronic sinusitis and cosmetic nasal surgery. He is married and has three children.
Mark A. Severtson, M.D.
Dr. Severtson is a native of the Seattle-Tacoma area of Washington state. A magna cum laude graduate of Yale University, Dr. Severtson earned his medical degree from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1992 and completed his residency training at Loyola University, Chicago, in 1997. He extended his training with an American Otologic Society approved fellowship in otology/neurotology through the Ear Foundation and Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery. Additionally, he holds subspeciality certification in Neurotology (also governed by the American Board of Otolaryngology). Dr. Severtson concentrates his practice in the areas of otology and neurotology (medical and surgical disorders of the ear, balance system, and skull base). Dr. Severtson and his wife, a clinical psychologist, have two children. He enjoys golf, skiing, and travelling to the Pacific Northwest.
Sameet Sohi, M.D.
Dr. Sohi is a Louisville native who attended Kentucky Country Day School. He completed his undergraduate work at Harvard University, and obtained his medical degree from the University of Louisville. Dr. Sohi is board certified and completed his residency in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at Ochsner Clinic/Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA in 2008. The program is consistently ranked among the annual US News and World Report Best ENT Hospitals. He has several publications through his research and clinical experience. As a general otolaryngologist, Dr. Sohi enjoys treating the full spectrum of ear, nose and throat disorders, with a particular interest in sinus disease and pediatrics. He is married and has two children.
Thomas S. Higgins, M.D., M.S.P.H.
Dr. Higgins is a board-certified otolaryngologist with sub-specialty fellowship training in the medical and surgical management of Nose and Sinus disease (“Rhinology”). He has extensive experience in complex and revision endoscopic sinus surgery, frontal sinus surgery, endoscopic brain fluid (CSF) leak repairs and sinus tumor resections, endoscopic orbital procedures as well as the medical/nonsurgical management of complicated sinus disease. He grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and attended Bellarmine College (now Bellarmine University). He obtained a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) and Masters of Science of Public Health (MSPH) from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and School of Public Health and Information Sciences. He completed a residency in Otolaryngology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia and his Rhinology Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Sean M. Miller, M.D.
Dr. Miller is a Louisville native who attended St. Xavier High School. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame and returned to the University of Louisville for medical school. He graduated magna cum laude from both schools and was elected to the AOA Honor Medical Society. He pursued residency training through the Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
Dr. Miller is board certified in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery and his practice includes the entire spectrum of ear, nose and throat disorders, with a special interest in pediatric patients, sinusitis/allergy and thyroid surgery. He and his wife, Dr. Natalie Miller (an allergist/immunologist), have three children.
