Types of Parotidectomy

Superficial Parotidectomy

This surgery is done to remove the tumor from the superficial lobe of the parotid gland and involves making an incision in front of the ear down to the neck.

Total Parotidectomy

This surgery is done when a tumor is found in the deep lobe of the gland or if it’s located in both the deep lobe and superficial lobe.

More about Parotidectomy

Parotid glands consist of a superficial lobe and a deep lobe, and tumors can develop in either or both of these lobes. Parotidectomy requires precision as a nerve that controls your facial muscles lies near the gland. We are happy to provide expertise and experience in this procedure.
